This magnificent boat sleeps up to seven people in accommodations with two separate cabins forward,
main salon and aft, Captains master stateroom. The interior of the Tatoosh is dry and comfortable and will
appeal to the sailor with plans for extended cruising or perhaps living aboard, in elegance and comfort. Of
primary importance of the interior of the Tatoosh 51, is the true three cabin layout which offers privacy
and comfort for three cruising couples.
With over 6'6" of headroom, the Tatoosh 51 is styled with the heritage of the finest features found in
the most sought after yachting accommodations; bright, well ventilated with 6 Dorade Boxes, 11 deck
prisms, 8 Goiot opening hatches, 12-opening ports and a custom built "turret bubble" for the hatch
over the inside steering helm, the interior finished in furniture quality Teak .
The interior of Tatoosh 51 features a unique tri-cabin layout with 2 separate forward staterooms, aft
Master stateroom and a spacious central salon. Forward to port is a double pullman berth with a small seat
and hanging closet, as well as tremendous storage under the berth, that includes 4 drawers. There is also a
book shelf outboard that runs the entire length of the berth. Forward, thru an arched teak door, is the shared
forward head with separate shower. Adjoining the 2nd forward head door and to starboard, is yet another
cabin, with over/under berths, an unusual and much sought after accommodation for a yacht of this size.
The forward staterooms with forward head, utilizes virtually the full beam of the yacht for an exceptionally
open and roomy layout, with many drawers, lockers and numerous other detailed amenities,
The Tatoosh 51 provides a gracious lifestyle for extended periods aboard for even the crew or long term guests.
The main salon is open and inviting with a large curved settee (providing for a comfortable berth at
sea), a wide sole and beautiful high/low teak table with fold out wings with fiddles and beautiful inset
teak pattern. There are numerous stowage areas throughout. Above and outboard of the settees you
will find shelves and lockers and abundant storage over and behind with all locker doors louvered

The navigation station is to starboard and features an inside helm station with adjustable swivel seat
with tremendous visibility from the custom "turret bubble" for optimum steering in inclement weather.
The large nav table has storage under, generous nav/electronics cabinet and room for the full
compliment of electronic navigation and communication equipment, as well as the well laid out,
custom electrical panel found on Tatoosh 51.
Aft of the nav station, is a Stainless Steel, diesel heater installed on a custom teak raised platform.
Next aft and to starboard, is the classic "wrap around" offshore safe, designed galley that will delight
the gourmet, whether at sea or dockside. There is generous cabinet & counter space, deep double
stainless steel sinks, Force 10, 3-burner propane stove and oven with broiler, hot & cold pressure
water, fresh water pump at each of 3 sinks, oversized ice box, teak side mounted glass holder,
microwave oven, abundant storage capacity, large cupboards and drawers. Force 10 Round Model,

Passageway to the aft stateroom is next, with a large storage locker, giving the Tatoosh 51 one of the
better designed yachts for long term cruising with abundant storage.
The Captains master stateroom is aft, with centerline bed, separate large settee to starboard, drawers,
storage lockers, hanging locker, vanity area, 2 large opening ports and wrap around windows for light and
ventilation There is a 2nd head with separate shower stall, ensuite. Countertops in both heads are marble.
One of the outstanding features, of this yacht and a much sought after compliment of any offshore cruising
yacht, is a separate stand-up work shop to port and aft of the companionway. There are custom built storage
areas for tools and additional equipment, lights, a permanently mounted high sped drill and grinder and a
permanently mounted vice on the workbench surface. This are is accessed thru a curved, solid teak door
and is totally separate from any living areas.
The interior of the Tatoosh 51 is finished in furniture quality teak: floors are teak and holly planked in
the traditional method, bulkheads are solid teak staving, locker doors are louvered teak for air circulation

MECHANICAL & PLUMBING:
The main engine space is located beneath the cockpit on the centerline and is fully acoustically and
thermally insulated with foam insulation. Access panels allow easy access to both sides for all service
routines. The main engine is a six cylinder, four stroke, naturally aspirated diesel unit by Perkins, 120
horsepower, mounted on four fully adjustable mounts with vibration insulation inserts, driving a folding
Maxprop. Dual lever throttle/shifters mounted on the steering pedestal and duplicate system is below at the
inside steering station.. Engine instruments include a tachometer, hour meter, oil pressure gauge, cooling
water temperature gauge and volt meter. There is a low oil pressure alarm. Pedestal mounted destroyer
wheel with hydraulic steering, destroyer wheel at bulkhead station below decks.

The Tatoosh 51 is awlgriped in a crisp white with blue cove feature stripe and a light dove gray
nonskid. This vessel is fiberglass w/3/4" Klegecell closed cell foam to the turn of the bilge: Balsa wood
core material in the deck and house. Dual steering stations, separate stand up work shop.
The owner is including the workshop drill press, grinder, all tools, dishware, pots and pans. All new
foam bedding was purchased in October of 1998.
